Conan Conway grew up riding in County Sligo, Ireland. As a teenager he rode ponies in both national and international shows. At the age of fifteen Conan's accomplishments on ponies led him to the Pony European Championships in Stockholm, Sweden, where he finished fourth.
At seventeen Conan moved to Killarney, Ireland to work for horseman and dealer, Pat Duggan of Ardmachree Stables. Conan spent eight years with the Duggan's, showing at national shows on a variety of horses ranging from young jumpers to the open divisions. With this long-term and consistent success under his belt, Conan set his sights on competition in the United States.
During his more than ten year tenure in America, Conan has worked for several top show jumping farms including Mr. Hunter Harrison's Double H Farm where his talents allowed him to serve as trainer and manager for seven years. While working for Double H Farm, Conan worked with many young horses and also schooled horses at the grand prix level.
In 2006 Conan teamed up with International rider, Darragh Kerins, and the duo went on to experience success at all levels of competition including over 13 Grand Prix wins and a 12th place finish in the 2009 European Championships aboard Mr. Hunter Harrison's powerful horse, Night Train. Conan's experience accross all levels of competition has prepared him well for the trainer and manager positions he now occupies at Blue Hill Farm.
Conan will be in charge of the training programs for Blue Hill's top show horses as well as the dealing and training of the farm's young horses. |
